I need a new book to read. I would like a GOOD love story. It does not have to be just a love story. It can be a fantasy with a good love story in it. But it has to be a Great love story. I was disappointed in the Choice by Nicholas Sparks and it was supposed to fill my need for a good love story. Usually I really like his. So please post in the comments a good love story you have read lately, or maybe your favorite love story. THANKS!
I should add some rules:
1. It can't be written by Stephanie Meyer- if any of you post anything written by her I will be tempted to come and find you!
2. It should be relatively clean. I don't read steamy romance novels.
3. It has to be good (see rule number 1).

Pride and Prejudice is a classic! It's one you can read again, and again, and again. However, my FAVORITE Jane Austen novel is Northanger Abby.
darn it, i just finished reading The Time Traveler's Wife, but it breaks rule #2, and there is lots of bad language. so don't read it.
Me no like romantix stuffs. Me like wierd stuffs like Kafka's Metomorphosis. Want to read some great romantic poetry though, try Neruda. And hi it's me.
Have you ever read "East" by Edith Pattou? It is a fantasy/love story bases on Irish (or maybe Scottish) myth. I haven't read it in a really long time, but I remember enjoying it. Edith Pattou also wrote a series that has a character in it that reminds me a little of "Soul Mates" called "Fire Arrow." I don't think that love story is truly realized until the 2nd book though. Or, if you are really in need of a few good books, you can read the "Abram's Daughters" series. (It is five books long and the love story carries through all five books.) This one is an Amish love story and although it is long (and VERY innocent)I absolutely loved it!!! Does that help?
Ooooo, the Time Traveler's wife. Sounds like Dr. Who. The may give you ideas about how I think you need to put time travel in your book.
I have been giving this request some serious consideration and I can't come up with anything you probably haven't already read.
I just have to say that Jane Eyre is my all time favorite. A Walk to Remember is my favorite Nicholas Sparks (and I agree with you completely about The Choice). And I tend to enjoy most of Richard Paul Evans' stories. I dunno, you can always check out my goodreads lists. I think you've about covered everything I've ever read.
I just started Love Walked In. I'll let you know how it goes. I've heard Enchantment is good.
I tried thinking of something for you, but I don't think I can think of anything that fits all your criteria. I guess I don't like love stories really. But I would actually recommend Time Traveler's Wife. Just because it breaks rule 2 doesn't mean it's not worth reading!
It may not be the best love story, but the last "love story" book I read was "A Company of Swans" by Eva Ibbottson. It was pretty clean and set in an interesting setting (an English ballerina going to Brazil, meeting a guy there, set in turn-of-the-century times).
I really liked Love Walked In. Swear alert, though. I'm going to read Belong to me too. I'll let you know how that one goes. I guess i could have just told you this through goodreads...
Thanks for the advice on getting sleep! I'm trying to take advantage of that now too, before he comes! Hope you guys are doing well, I'm glad you found me on facebook!
Try "These is My Words" by Turner. It's one of my favorites. I've also been told to read "Far Pavilions" by Kaye and "Rebecca" by somebody French--du Marier I think. Both are supposedly classic romances. I also love the Mitford books by Jan Karon and the Amelia Peabody mysteries by Elizabeth Peters. Fun reads, with some romance included. I am curious about your apparent dislike for Stephenie Meyer. Most people I've talked to either LOVE her or are ambivalent. I'll have to e-mail you and get your story...
