So, the story behind the last post...
Earlier I admitted my current obsession with Alias. It is a good show, but the other reason I like it is Michael Vaughn. I was somewhat worried that there was something wrong with me. I haven't had a crush on a fictional character since I was young and stupid. I wanted to know if it happened to regular people, or just the hopeless romantic/writer types.
Now the crush thing. I'm not like in love with him. He is even only mildly cute (played by Michael Vartan who was in Never Been Kissed), but I guess it is more that I am in love with him on behalf of Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner). They can't be together because if people see them together, it might end up getting them killed (I don't want to give too much away in case people decide they want to watch it), but you can tell how much he is in love with her. I was trying to figure out what it is about him that I like so that I could throw it into my own book. Which is why I asked why you liked the character you had a crush on.
Tiffany, I also had a crush on Gilbert Blythe. My sister and I used to watch Anne of Green Gables on PBS until all hours. I always hated the episode when she almost ends up with that annoying older guy because you want to scream "No! Gilbert is in love with you, you stupid girl!"
So, then I started to think I only had a thing for guys who are hopelessly in love with a girl that doesn't love him or he can't be with. I don't even know what that says about me Psychologically. But then reading what some of you wrote, and over thinking it all (hey, over thinking things is one of the things I do best). I figured out what it is. First, he can look at Sydney with more feeling and emotion than it is possible for words to even say. Secondly, he can read Sydney effortlessly. She lives as a spy. She lies to everyone, for their safety, but she can never tell them anything real about herself. She is good at not showing her emotions on her face (not as good as her dad, but still good), but all she has to do is walk in the room, and he knows. He knows what she is feeling, sometimes maybe more than she does. And it isn't just because she can be herself with him because sometimes she doesn't want him to know what is going on, but he knows when something is wrong.
There is some rambling for you, huh?
So, I laughed pretty hard when Jake said Sydney Bristow. Does that mean we are compatible or something? ;)

Hey, I just read this book that you might find interesting. It is called The Actor and The Housewife, by Shannon Hale. A housewife ends up meeting and becoming friends with her all-time-favorite cinema crush. It's a little slow, but I loved the overall message. All things considering, you might enjoy it.
By-the-way, I used to love Alias back in the day. Who wouldn't love Michael Vaughn. Hello, CUTIE!!!
And all this time I thought you had a thing for Marshall
