I posted this on Facebook too, so you don't have to reply to both...
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character, if so who and why?
And if you all put Edward Cullin I expect a whole essay as to why because I will need convincing!!!
I promise this isn't some weird Psychology experiment. This is part curiosity, part to help with my writing.
Thanks for your input.

Edward Cullen. :D
(Have you read the books, yet? Terrible writing; great storytelling).
Ok - because he is smart, kind, thinks of others before himself, has insane self-control in more ways than one, musically talented, old-fashioned gentleman, polite, morally upright, doesn't hide his jealousy of other men for pride's sake, dresses impeccably well, wealthy, loving family...
Growing up, I was in love with Laurie from "Little Women." I always connected with Jo and every time I read/watch it, I STILL get mad at Jo.
And Gilbert Blythe!!!!! <3 him, so!
Oh, I liked Laurie because he was her friend first, and because I envied that kind of adoration. He was so in love with her.
I liked Gilbert Blythe also because they were friends first, but they had that healthy competitive edge of always trying to outdo each other, and because I, as the reader, could see how perfect he was for Anne, even though she couldn't.
And because the movie version of him was so dang cute.
Oh! I'll bite. You may have already figured this out about me at some point (because I make no secret of it), but I truly do have such a crush on the Weasley twins from Harry Potter. Why? Pure sense of humor. Anyone who could continually entertain and make me laugh like that would have to be a keeper!
Do TV shows count? I know you'll kill me if I say Rose Tyler, so I'll go with Sydney Bristow. ;)
When I read The Great Gatsby in high school, I totally had a crush on Gatsby. I don't remember why... maybe because he was mysterious? I'm sure there were others, but he's only one I can think of right now!
Jamie Fraser from Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. He was such a MAN! Oh my gosh I had almost forgotten how much I loved him until you asked this question. I read the books as a freshman and sophomore in college so I don't remember them all that clearly, but I'm pretty sure he was strong, protective, handsome, forceful (yet sensitive). . . have you read those books? Maybe not, they're a tad racey :)
Come to think of it, reading those books when I did may have had something to do with the fact that I ended up with a military man. . . hmmmmm. . .
Edward? ... okay maybe... But i'm more of a Jacob kind of girl. He's funny and fun to be around. Maybe i'll have to read the books again... i think maybe i just didn't like the "movie" edward. (Plus "movie" jacob is hot!) : 0 Sorry, maybe i'm no help. good luck with your book. :)
*facepalm*

I agree with Gilbert Blythe, but the first one that came to mind was actually the guy from the Anastasia cartoon. Call me weird, but I always said that if he were modeled after a real person I'd be so in love!
Yes Tiffany I read the Twilight series, don't get me started. If I had to chose on that one, I am for Jacob any way because Bella and Edward have a sad co-dependent relationship.
I'll tell you what drew me into Twilight, I think. It was just after law school, where Jeff had been so incredibly busy for so long, and I was feeling a bit neglected...(the Mom takes care of everyone and everything, but who takes care of the Mom???) Anyway, the thing that was so winsome about Edward was that he is always looking out for what Bella wants, and cares about how she feels. Which is also why their relationship is so one-sided...So maybe it was more what I was reading in, than what was in the book. I dunno. But that was what got me about Edward when I read the book.
