Since we had James, things vanish off of the face of the earth. It is weird.
James has this Leap Frog toy that is magnetic, and so is on our fridge. It has a front half and a back half of a vehicle and you can combine them in different ways. It says the sounds that the vehicles make and sings songs about whether you put them together right or not. The front half of the fire engine disappeared one day. This one is very frustrating to me because I was standing right there, and then when I turned around it was gone. James kept insisting it was behind the piano, but it isn't. I thought it would turn up, I mean, it didn't go into a black hole, did it? Well, it has been missing for like a year with no sign of it.
James had a car key that didn't go to anything. I got it in the mail as one of those promotions, "Come to our dealership and see if the key fits the car and win." I gave it to him to play with. It got misplaced a couple of times, so I put a key chain on it, thinking it would help us keep track of it. Well, now it is gone...
The latest tragedy is one of Jake's old cell phones. James carried the thing with him everywhere. He would even take it to church, and he would tell us he was "on call." Jake is on call at work every seven weeks or so. I can't find the blasted thing anywhere! And two weeks ago he cried all the way to church and into part of Sacrament because he was on call and didn't have his phone.
Dear black hole, please stop stealing things from our house! And could you please relinquish the toys you have already stolen. Thank you.

That "on call" thing is so adorable! Things always disappear over here. At first I knew most of Jonathan's "hiding places," but now he keeps inventing new ones.
I know the feeling! Usually, I can clean my house really good and find it, but every now and then, it's just gone forever. My latest loss was a brand new roll of tape for my strings class. No clue where it went from the time I bought it.
We havn't seen our TV remote in months! Matt actually has the girls get up to change the channel for him! Remember when our parents used to make us do that...?
